Hugo has just come into the rescue at 3 years of age through no fault of his own and is available for adoption. Based in Devon, we will be prioritising homes in the South West region but will consider out-of-area applications in exceptional circumstances, with the right home being the priority for this lovely dog.

Hugo, who has lived with another dog, is a super dog who will make a great companion in the right home where his training will need to continue. He has been well cared for and trained by his previous owners and is responsive to commands and has good recall. We are looking for an experienced owner to continue his education in his new home.
He is good with people, including children, and was very calm and polite when I met him as a stranger, but he can, on occasion, be unsure and bark at strangers. He has lived with another young dog and children and travels well. He is fully housetrained and crate trained.
He is generally calm out and about but in recent months he has become reactive around some other dogs so this will need work with an experienced handler and he would benefit from further general training with lead walking, socialising, etc.
We are looking for an experienced adult-only home or one with dog-savvy children as an only dog or with an older mature dog, ideally a bitch, but this would need careful consideration & introduction. Cannot live with cats.
A sad rehoming, and only done after much consideration due to a change in circumstances and felt to be in the best interests of Hugo, whose needs can no longer be met in the home. He was much loved and cared for by his owners, so it is not an easy decision, so no negative comments, please – be kind.
You would need to be prepared to travel to the South Devon area for meets with Hugo. A home check will be required, and an adoption fee will be payable.
